2002 Piper-Heidsieck 'Rare' Champagne

The pale gold, greenish shimmering 2002 Rare Millesime -- 30% Pinot Noir and 70% Chardonnay -- offers a very intense and rich, yet fresh nose of exotic fruit aromas of pineapples, mango, kiwi and passion fruit. On the palate, this is a mouthful of luscious Champagne: powerful and intense, but pure and with the complexity of matured wines. 2017 Twomey, Sauvignon Blanc

Our 2015 Sauvignon Blanc is an alluring, expressive wine embodying the facets of our four estate vineyards. The blend of mineral-driven fruit from the Sonoma County vineyards and the lush tropical aromas derived from the Napa Valley vineyards develops complexity in the glass. Hints of white gold and straw illuminate this wine. The bouquet bursts with mango, guava and gardenias, while the sculpted palate focuses citrus and minerality into lime zest and wet slate. The bright attack, rich full body and refreshingly long finish are redolent of citrus acidity. The perfumed tropical notes stem from the dynamic terroir we work with. This is a medium weight wine to be paired with a variety of foods from an hors d’oeuvre of zesty gazpacho to a creamy seafood risotto. It will be a pleasant accompaniment to any meal. Our 2015 Sauvignon Blanc is a wine to be enjoyed throughout the year.

2012 Alpha Omega Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaker Notes - 2012 proved to be a unique but outstanding vintage. This is not because of frost, heat or rain, but mainly due to bountiful harvest. The growing season was ideal with no frost, a mild spring, and a very temperate, long growing season. This allowed all varietals to ripen to their optimum condition with significant concentration and complexity. The biggest challenge was the management of the tannin structure of the very thick-skinned red vintage. This meant that winemakers who simply applied recipes had a challenging year as tannin levels were at twice the average level.

1997 Ridge 'Monte Bello Vineyard' Cabernet Sauvignon

"The product of a generous crop and a balmy vintage, the 1997 Monte Bello continues to show beautifully, wafting from the glass with an expressive bouquet of cassis, dried cherries, menthol and loamy soil, lavishly framed by new American oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, supple and open-knit, with largely melted tannins and a generous personality, which is all tied together by the bright thread of acidity that's such a signature of this site. Despite being seemingly fully mature, an open bottle held up beautifully over three days" - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

2000 Ridge 'Monte Bello Vineyard' Cabernet Sauvignon

"The 2000 Monte Bello Proprietary Red (75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc) is a surprisingly forward example of a Ridge Monte Bello. Its dense ruby/purple color is accompanied by sweet toasty oak along with creme de cassis, licorice, and resin-like aromas. Medium to full-bodied, nicely textured, and elegant with soft tannin as well as a forward style (surprising in view of winemaker Paul Draper’s typical style), I would not be surprised to see it firm up considerably in the bottle, and last for 12-13 years."  - Robert Parker

2013 Saxum James Berry Vineyard Paso Robles

The 2013 James Berry Vineyard Proprietary Red is made from 45% Grenache, 29% Mourvedre, 18% Syrah and 8% Counoise (which Justin commented was a blend that was put together relatively late). It saw a big chunk of whole cluster (the Grenache was mostly destemmed though) and was brought up all in puncheons and foudre (the normal concrete component went to the Rocket Block). It offers up gorgeous notes of black raspberries, cherries, cassis, ground herbs and flowers. This beauty hits the palate with incredible purity, fine tannin and an overriding sense of elegance and finesse, backed up by full-bodied richness and depth. It needs to be forgotten for 3-4 years and it will drink beautifully through 2028. -  Jeb Dunnuck, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"The flagship wine, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill, 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Petit Verdot and 5% Malbec, is a stunner and one of the great, great 2014s. Inky purple with blueberry and blackberry fruit, cassis, licorice, graphite and white flowers, the wine is stunningly concentrated, full-bodied and seemingly one of the greatest of the 2014s. Still youthful, with at least 25-30 years of upside potential at the minimum, this is a wine for patient connoisseurs. Anticipated maturity: 2023-2050.” 99 Points: An extraordinary wine of profound and complex character displaying all the attributes expected of a classic wine of its variety. 2014 Ridge Monte Bello Cabernet Sauvignon Santa Cruz Mountains

"A worthy successor to the profound 2013 and the fruit of the earliest harvest on record at this address, the 2014 Monte Bello is still quite youthfully expressive, wafting from the glass with an exuberant bouquet of minty dark berries, plums, black cherries, cigar box and a nicely integrated framing of new oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, deep and intense, with a rich chassis of structuring tannins, which are currently largely concealed in a succulent core of fruit, and bright balancing acids. In profile, it's structurally more open-knit and giving than the massive 2013, and I suspect it will reach its plateau sooner, but it should enjoy over three decades of longevity. The blend is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, and it attained 13.5% natural alcohol. 'The drought had a positive effect on concentration,' observed winemaker Eric Baugher when we corresponded shortly after harvest, adding that 'the wines are opaque in color, with rich tannins and marvellous fruit.' Four years later, that remains an accurate characterization of the 2014 Monte Bello." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
